Bedford based composer and songwriter Johnny Parry brings his complete 30-piece Chamber Orchestra to the corn exchange for a rare performance celebrating their sixth release “An Anthology of all Things”. This recording, commissioned by Bedford Creative Arts, featured a bespoke choir of Bedfordians, (now solidified as the Bedford Arts Choir). This big hearted army of 50 singers recorded alongside the chamber orchestra singing a libretto made up from hundreds of personal statements donated by the public. On November the 2nd the Orchestra will perform extracts of this work alongside a comprehensive selection of other works old and new. Expect grand gestures of love and death, and an unashamed commitment to both the romantic and the unusual.

“What they pull off live is a logistical and musical miracle.” ***** The Arts Desk

When performing, the Orchestra plays alongside a backdrop of films made by international artist Andy Holden to create their stunning and acclaimed live sets. “Johnny Parry deserves recognition and praise,” writes The 405: “Consistently tackling unusual projects and concepts, his performances are simply beautiful".

Opening the evening will be a special selection of Bedford’s finest musicians as part of a songwriter circle entitled “Confessions of a Chorister” featuring:

Roger Illingworth (Buzzard Lope)
Christian Webb
Betty Fances
Leah Kardos
Jonny Mudd
Sungsinger
